The park is home to 3 kinds of monkey, 557 bird species, 4000 plant species, and a variety of other animals. Your bilingual tour guide will point out various points of interest along the way.
At 7:30A.M the bus will stop for a typical Costa Rican breakfast; fresh fruit, coffee, eggs, and the ubiquitous “gallo pinto”.
After breakfast you continue to a Banana plantation where your guide will explain the process of growing and exporting.
At around 10:30A.M you will board the boat and for the trip through the jungle to the Caribbean canals in the
12:00M.D a hearty lunch, followed by a walk through the rainforest while your guide explains the ecosystems in a tropical humid rainforest. This is followed by a by a boat ride through the canal system. The park is home to many rare animals and birds including; green sea turtles, sloth’s, monkeys, agoutis, coatimundis, manatees, toucans, trogons, egrets, herons, anhingas, crocodiles and countless colourful butterflies.

On route to the Poas Volcano you will travel through country towns and highland forests before stopping at the Siempre Verde coffee plantation where you will enjoy breakfast surrounded by tropical gardens and a spectacular view.
You will sample the products of the plantation while the guide shows you around and explains the growing process.
You will enjoy a short walk to the summit of Poas Volcano, going through a cloud forest full of typical plant life and colourful hummingbirds. The peak is 2,500 meters (8,200 feet) from which you will witness one of the largest active craters in the world.
Marvel at the awesome variety of colours surrounding the steaming sulphurous lagoon at the centre.
At midday you will continue your journey past the volcano and travelling through deep canyons, jungle and streams before stopping for photos at the beautiful La Paz waterfalls, followed by a coffee break at the hummingbird gallery overlooking the impressive 250 ft high San Fernando waterfall.
You then head across the caribbean plain, enjoying the different tropical vegetation, as well as the colourful towns, cacao, banana, and pineapple plantations.
Lunch is served at the Selva Verde Jungle Lodge, on the bank of the Sarapiqui river, followed by a gentle guided walk along a rainforest trail
Later you will board a boat and gently float down the river looking out for iguanas, monkeys, crocodiles, sloths, and a huge variety of colorful birds.
at about 16.30 you will start your journey back to San Jose is through the Braulio Carrillo National Park, a protected area of over 500 sq Kilometers, complete with towering mountains, and virgin tropical rainforests

The sliding cable is divided into two parts:
1-The forest section, starts with small cables so the passenger will acquire confidence while admiring the forest’s canopy.
2-The adventure section will have longer cables suspended from high platforms that require large doses of adrenaline.
The total length of the cable is of 2500 meters or 8.202,10 ft. There are 19 platforms and the San Lorenzo Canopy offers a 750-meter or 2.460,63 feet cable, the longest one in the country.
